Hiking up Nosal is a great idea for a short, undemanding mountain hike, with a great bonus in the form of beautiful views.
Despite its modest height (1206 metres above sea level), there are unforgettable views from Nosal of Kotlina Zakopiańska (the Zakopane Basin), Dolina Bystra (the Bystra Valley), Kuźnica and the Tatras from Hawran to Osobita.
The hike starts at the Murowanica bus stop, from where you walk in the direction of the dam on the Bystra river and follow the green trail. The way up should take about 25 minutes.
The climb is relatively easy, but still needs some care. The main peak and the subsidiary ones are rugged and can be dangerous.
From the top of Nosal, a fairytale view over the Polish Tatras appears. In good weather, you can see Koszystą, Krzyżne, Granaty, Kozi Wierch, Kościelec, Świnicę, Kasprowy Wierch, Goryczkową, Małołączniak and Giewont.
You can go back using the same trail, or continue on, returning via Nosalowa Przelęcz and taking the yellow trail to Dolina Olczyskiej – which takes 25 minutes. The walk from Dolina Olczyska to Jaszczurowa takes another 35 minutes. From there, you can take a minibus to the centre of Zakopane (4 stops).
Enjoy your hike!
